Ingredients:
- 1 lb Wagyu beef patties
- 4 brioche burger buns
- 1 cup Gruyere cheese, grated
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Lettuce, tomato, and pickles for garnish optional
Instructions:
Put olive oil in a pan and heat it over medium-low heat
It will take about 15 minutes of cooking after adding the sliced onions until they start to turn brown
Add the red wine and keep cooking for another 10 minutes or until the onions are soft and the wine has dried out
Add pepper and salt to taste
Set your grill or stovetop griddle on medium-high heat while the onions are cooking
Add salt and pepper to the Wagyu beef patties
Put the patties on the grill and cook them for three to four minutes on each side for medium-rare burgers or longer if you like them more done
In the last minute of cooking, put a lot of Gruyere cheese on top of each patty and let it melt
Grill the brioche burger buns for about one minute, or until they get a little brown
Put a burger patty with melted cheese on the bottom bun, then add a spoonful of the red wine braised onions on top of it
You can add pickles, lettuce, and tomato if you want to
Put the other half of the bun on top and serve hot
